Anti-Money Laundering Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

1. Our commitment

Aster does not allow its platform to be used for money laundering, terrorist financing or any other financial crime. We apply anti-money-laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist-financing (CTF) controls that are proportionate to our services and aligned with the requirements of our card-issuing and payment partners and the laws that apply to us. Accounts that are used, or that we reasonably believe are being used, for illegal activity are suspended.

2. Know Your Customer (KYC)

We verify who our members are before higher-value services are available. Verification is organised in tiers: each tier unlocks more of the platform and asks for a little more information. The tiers currently in use are listed below.

No momento, a verificação de identidade é feita caso a caso pela nossa equipe de conformidade. Os requisitos de modalidade serão publicados aqui quando a verificação por autoatendimento estiver ativada.

Verification documents are uploaded through your dashboard, stored privately, reviewed by our team and never shared with third parties except where the law or our partners' compliance requirements demand it.

3. Monitoring

Deposits, card purchases and withdrawals are monitored for patterns that are inconsistent with normal use, for example unusually large or rapid activity, activity linked to high-risk countries, several accounts tied to the same person or device, or transactions structured to stay under thresholds. Flagged activity is reviewed by a person before any decision is made.

4. Prohibited activity

You may not use Aster to launder money, to move funds for a sanctioned person or organisation, to finance terrorism, to buy illegal goods or services, to evade sanctions programmes, or for anything that breaks the law where you live. Doing so leads to immediate suspension of your account and may be reported.

5. Sanctions screening

Members and transactions are screened against applicable international sanctions lists, including those published by the United Nations, the European Union and the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). A confirmed match results in suspension and, where required, a report to the relevant authority.

6. Reporting suspicious activity

Where the law requires it, we report suspicious activity to the competent financial intelligence unit. We are generally not allowed to tell an account holder that such a report has been made.

7. Record keeping

We keep identity-verification records and transaction records for as long as applicable regulation requires after an account is closed, and we may provide them to regulators or law enforcement in response to a lawful request.

8. Your responsibilities

By using Aster you confirm that the funds you deposit come from lawful sources, that you are not acting for a sanctioned person or organisation, that the information you give us during verification is accurate, and that you will provide additional documents promptly if our compliance team asks for them.

9. Account suspension

We may suspend, restrict or close an account that we suspect of breaching this policy, and hold the associated balance while a review or a regulatory instruction is pending.

10. Questions

If you have a question about this policy or about verification, contact our support team from your dashboard or through the contact page.
